Selective Optimism Disorder in Governance and Opposition

The greatest danger to a nation is not criticism it is selective silence. When those in power celebrate achievements but ignore failures, and when the opposition raises its voice only for political convenience rather than national interest, the nation becomes the ultimate victim.

Today, it often appears that corruption, misuse of authority, and institutional failures are judged not by their impact on the country, but by who is involved. The same act is condemned in one case and justified in another. This selective optimism and selective outrage weaken public trust and erode the foundations of democracy.

A strong nation requires accountability from both the government and the opposition. Governance is not about protecting individuals; it is about protecting institutions. Opposition is not about opposing everything; it is about defending the interests of the people. When both fail in these responsibilities, the nation suffers.

As citizens, we must rise above political loyalties and demand transparency, integrity, and equal standards of justice for all. Patriotism is not blind support for any party or leader it is the courage to stand for truth, even when it is uncomfortable.

An ashamed Indian asks only one question:

When will national interest become more important than political interest?
