17 Rastriya Rifles Case: Lessons
I wish to raise a critical concern to @adgpi @NorthernComd_IA
@easterncomd
@rajnathsingh
Why are we not formulating a clear policy to safeguard the dignity and authority of our own Class I Commissioned Officers? Why are they being subjected to junior police representatives who are often unaware of established military protocol and precedence?
In earlier times, such situations were unthinkable. Today, however, we are witnessing instances where FIRs are being fabricated against Commanding Officers and Company Commanders officers who are senior in rank, responsibility, and standing within the jurisdiction. What explains this shift? Why are we allowing such disregard for established hierarchy and protocol?
Why this growing tendency to entertain civil authorities beyond defined limits under the guise of liaison? Such actions only undermine the dignity of the uniform and erode institutional respect.
I have personally handled cases that have caused serious embarrassment to the rank and dignity of our young officers officers who are far more competent, qualified, motivated, and committed than many of their civil counterparts. Their honour is not personal it is national honour. Their lives remain constantly at risk in service to the nation.
It is time to introspect and act decisively. This issue demands immediate attention and corrective policy measures.
I have consistently advised commanders on this matter during my tenure in J&K. The time to act is now. Public is always with us and love the Forces and they are Masters!
Jai Hind Jai Hind Ki Sena!
