A mother's tears carry a weight that no medal, no citation, and no words can ever fully measure
As she stepped forward to receive a gallantry award on behalf of her son who made the ultimate sacrifice for the Nation, she tried to remain strong. She carried the pride of a soldier's mother and the dignity of a family that gave its finest for India. Yet, in that moment, standing before the President of India, the pain of losing her son overwhelmed the strength she had been carrying for so long.
For a brief moment, it was not merely a constitutional ceremony. It was a meeting of two mothers one grieving the loss of her child, and the other, occupying the highest office of the Republic, sharing in that grief. The sorrow of a mother touched the heart of the President, reminding the Nation that behind every gallantry medal lies a family that lives forever with an irreplaceable loss.
Such sacrifices are the foundation upon which our freedom, security, and democracy stand. They demand not only remembrance but also responsibility. The institutions that these brave soldiers serve must remain beyond reproach. This is precisely why every organisation entrusted with the Nation's defence must be kept clean, transparent, and accountable.
No individual has the right to defame, weaken, or dent the credibility of such institutions through arbitrary orders, abuse of authority, manipulation of processes, or disregard for military ethos. Introspection is needed today more than ever to preserve transparency, integrity, and public faith in the system.
The greatest threat to any institution is often not external. It is the culture of unquestioning compliance and the rise of "yes-men" the most dangerous breed who place personal interests above truth, accountability, and organisational values. Strong institutions are built not by blind obedience, but by courage, honesty, and adherence to principles.
The tears of a martyr's mother should remind us all that the sacrifices made for the Nation deserve institutions worthy of that sacrifice.
JAI HIND !! JAI HIND KI SENA!!
